Here are a small number of questions which are often asked by my clients. However, if you have any further queries or questions then please pop me a message via the Contact page

"What happens on the consultation appointment?"

On the initial consultation i will check the condition of your natural hair to see if it is suitable for hair extensions. We will discuss (or may have discussed prior to your consultation) your desired look such as a block colour to match your existing hair or adding colour to your hair through highlighted or ombre shades. Then, i will find find the best colour extensions to match your hair. This may involve finding a couple of different colours to mix together to get the perfect match.

The consultation is great as it gives you a chance to discuss any questions or queries you might have as well as being able to get a perfect colour match.

"Should I use a special shampoo and confitioner"

Looking after your hair extensions properly is key for prolonging the life span and quality of them. Hair extension manufacturers recommend using sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner (read the ingredients on the bottle) and applying a deep conditioning treatment once a week. HOWEVER, I personally (as well as a few of my clients) don't get along with sulphate free shampoos, so therefore I would recommend just using a regular shampoo but make sure you get a very good conditioner, preferably one especially for hair extensions.  If you do not look after your hair extensions properly and the quality reduces then you will need to buy new hair sooner than expected.

"Do I need to do anything prior to fitting?"

It is best to have washed your hair on the day of your fitting (or the night before) so that it is nice and clean. When washing the hair before your fitting please ensure that you do not put conditioner on the routes as this may make it difficult for your tapes to secure properly. If you have a natural wave/curl to your hair please run hair straighteners over it before your fitting as it will enable the extensions to blend easier. It is best not to wash your hair for 48 hours after they have been fitted as this enables the tapes to secure properly.

"How often should I get the hair extensions refitted?"

It is recommended to have your hair extensions removed and refitted every 6-8 weeks. The cost of removing and refitting the extensions is £80 (unless you’re only having a half head then the cost will be less). If you just want the extensions removed then the cost will be £40. Therefore, you are actually getting them refitted for £15 less than the original fitting price which is £65.

"How are they removed?"

When removing the extensions I use a specially formulated oil spray which helps the tape to dissolve and they peel off with ease. This is the most natural and pain free way of removing tapes. It is strongly advised that you don’t try to remove them yourself without a removing solution as this WILL hurt!

"Will I get any hair loss?"

Naturally, we lose around 50 to 100 stands of hair per day. This is obviously not the case when you have your extensions in, as the tapes are holding you hair in place. So when the time comes to get your extensions removed, don’t be surprised! You will lose what looks like a large amount of hair, but it’s only because you’re not used to seeing all of this hair that you were supposed to be shedding all come out at once. Your hair may feel thinner without your extensions in, but what else can you expect, you have just had layers of hair extensions taken out of your hair, and lost some of your own natural hair which wasn’t able to fall out at its normal pace. After a few days, you will be used to the thickness of your natural hair again.

"How long does the fitting and removal time take?"

Most clients have a three quarter head of extensions (150g of hair) which takes an hour max to fit and removal time is around the same. If you require more hair aka a full head or only a half head then fitting/removal time will vary accordingly.

"What happens after they’re removed and how are they refitted?"

I usually do removal and refits on two separate appointments and it is down to you how long of a gap you want in between those two appointments, whether it be a day, a week or a month. In between your removal and refit appointments I will remove any tape residue from the hair and retape them with new tape tabs so that they are ready to go again on your refit appointment.

"How much does everything cost?"

The price is totally dependant on the length/thickness/condition of your natural hair along with whether you'd want 14", 18" or 22" hair. If you get in contact and let me know all of this info then I can give you a price quote.

I also quite often run promotions/competitions on my social media pages so make sure you follow/like them and keep your eyes peeled!
